If you’ve never before seen the difference between a fresh egg from a pasture-raised hen and an egg from a caged layer, you’re in for a treat! Because they are on pasture, our hens lay an egg with firmer whites that don’t just run all over the pan. Because the whites are firmer, the deep orange yolk results from the eggs having a higher Vitamin A content.

In fact one research report concluded that eggs from pasture-raised hens contained
40% more Vitamin A, 34% less cholesterol, and 10% less fat than their “factory
farm” counterparts. They have also been shown to be tremendously higher
in Omega-3 fatty acids. There you have it, you not only get an egg that simply
tastes better, but also is much better for you. You can come to the farm to
pick up eggs or visit Ryman and Terrett Pharmacy in Barnesville, OH or Valley
Cheese and The Master’s Cupboard, both in Wheeling. For direction to
any of these locations, give me a call.
